Compton Juvenile Court is located at 200 W. Compton Blvd, Compton, California 90220. The Compton Juvenile Court has two bench officers that handle delinquency matters. They are:

 

Compton Juvenile Court Judge Charles R. Scarlett Dept 260

Judge Scarlett graduated from Howard University in Washington D.C. in 1949 with his Bachelor of Arts Degree. He graduated from Washington University Law School where he graduated with his L.L.B. degree in 1951. Judge Scarlett previously worked for a well known civil litigation defense firm Earl C. Brody, which became Brody, Scarlett & Brody, which became Scarlett & Roberson, which today is known as Ivy & McNeil. He worked there from 1953 thru 1980. He was appointed Judge on March 11, 1980 by Governor Jerry Brown Jr. He was in Greensboro North Carolina on April 24, 1924. He is a registered democrat. He previously served in the United States Marines, World War II, (South Pacific). His professional affiliations include the California Coalition of Black Attorneys, Langston Law Club, Los angles Trial Lawyers Association, Los Angeles County Bar Associaiton Board of Directors, National Bar Association, American Bar Association, California Judges Associaiton. Judge Scarlett is the grandson of a slave and grew up in Greensboro, N.C., and attended segregateed schools. Judge Scarlett is the father of four children and the grandfather of three. His previous juvenile court assignments included Eastlake Juvenile Court, Inglewood Juvenile Court, and Kenyon Juvenile Court in South Central Los Angeles.

 

Compton Juvenile Court Commissioner Catherine Pratt in Dept 261

Commissioner Pratt is a former Los Angeles County Counsel who was sworn in as commissioner January 5, 2006 as commissioner. She replaced Christina Hill who was appointed Judge in November 2005.

The Compton Juvenile Court has many options in resolving juvenile criminal cases including but not limited to placing your child home on probation, or ordering confinement at juvenile hall, juvenile camp, placement, or the California Youth Authority.
